Did you know that the church exists in the marketplace every day? The question, though, is whether the church is being intentional to connect and love and give themselves away there.
Westpoint strives to encourage and resource each follower of Jesus to be the church in the marketplace, mainly by being a genuine friend to co-workers and classmates and people they encounter in the marketplace. We also have a commitment to exist together there through connection points that exist simply to befriend culture and serve communities.
The reason? Because it would be irresponsibile to exist as followers of Jesus in the marketplace, but not be intentional to see the beauty of a community of love show herself there. We must. The church is that one part of humanity where humanity should be happening as intended, where love should be given as intended, and where people find connection with God as intended. If followers of Jesus exist in the marketplace, then the church does, as well.
Are you being the church in the marketplace? Please pray about how you will connect with people and be the church in the marketplace, and dream about how we can continue to be the church in the marketplace together!

Giving ourselves away is the motivation that compels us to exist as Restoration Concept. We are an alliance of people that formed in October 2005 with a belief and a mission to shape the culture around us. The central belief is that people matter. The mission is to help people really believe that they do.
All of us actually are meant to live with a purpose and a meaning and a hope and a future. Somewhere along the way, that belief gets shaken, whether by actual circumstance or disillusioned perspective. Things can happen that cause people to forget their purpose, think life is meaningless, lose their expected hope, and see no future worth living for.
We believe that inside all of us is the wiring to connect with something and someone beyond us that actually enables us to see our value in relation to and in the midst of all this humanity. The mission is to serve people and remind them of that connection so that we can all live the way we were meant to live – restored.

The concept of HOUSE BLEND CAFE developed over the course of several years of dreaming of a creative way to connect with people, impact lives, and see community happen the way it's supposed to. It began in February 2006 and continues today to serve great coffee, great food, and a great community.
House Blend is not a "Christian cafe." It is a for-profit business created to serve a different bottom line - loving people. We want to give ourselves away and hope to inspire others in the marketplace to do the same.
We don't generally get involved in things where we simply write a check, rather we give back in a way that will meet needs and create relationship. Thus, community happens as intended. That includes feeding the homeless, helping women and children in need, renovating homes, restoring neighborhoods, supporting other people who have a heart to serve, and more.
Love is everything. Come find out what made HOUSE BLEND CAFE the 2nd best coffeehouse in Orlando as rated by AOL CityGuide two years in a row. It's not just the coffee and food. We're cultivating communitas, too.
